Pachyderms and Posies

Spring is here! And with spring comes warmer weather (in theory), beautiful buds (soon please), and baby showers. So many baby showers.

Between the special orders, Easter decorations (photos coming in April), and the baby gifts, I have been working my way through my yarn stash.┬áLuckily, my cousin’s baby shower gift required me to add three new colors to my collection.

She’s decorating her daughter’s nursery with elephants, and asked if I coule make a variety of flowers and baby elephants to use in a mobile. I had never crocheted an elephant before, but they turned out to be pretty easy.

I included a surprise in her box. The “real” baby gift is a full-sized stuffed animal elephant. (Approx. 6 inches from nose to tail, as opposed to the smaller elephants that were around 3 inches.)

Unlike the mobile elephants, which have beaded eyes, this little lady has felt eyes, which makes her more baby friendly.

She also has a little something extra.

I even included a little something special for my favorite soon-to-be great-granny to “steal” when she visits…

I think I have a break in my crochet projects for now, so hopefully I can get a few other things on the “to do” list done.

Have you been missing my refashion projects? Me too! Don’t worry though. New projects are on their way. I may even have my next Pantone Project done by the end of the weekend. (It’s a definite maybe…)
